Artificial Intelligence is efficient. But is it effective at connecting? AI is everywhere. It writes faster, edits quicker, analyses deeper and automates tasks we used to spend hours on. Ignoring it would be foolish, so of course we don’t. At Donkeycomm, we’re actively exploring and using AI tools to optimise workflows, streamline processes and remove friction from our daily work. But the real question isn’t whether to use AI. It’s how to use it without losing that genuine human connection.

AI excels at volume. It can generate copy, captions, variations and visuals in seconds. That speed is impressive and useful. Yet speed alone doesn’t create content that actually connects.
Brands don’t just grow because they post more, they grow because people feel something. Social media consumption for example, is shifting, especially among younger audiences. They’re drawn to long-form content, the people behind brands, creators and brand ambassadors testing products and subcultures or niches that truly spark their interest. Above all, they’re looking for the real thing, not generic, AI-generated messages that could belong to anyone.
Connection happens in the small details:
AI can describe these things, but it can’t make you experience them.
Despite all technological progress and how quickly it all evolves, one thing hasn’t changed: people buy from people. We trust faces, voices and stories that feel real. That’s why content showing the people behind a brand - real video, real moments, real imperfections - consistently outperforms generic, polished output.
You can feel when something is authentic and you can feel when it isn’t. That’s exactly the reason why Coca-Cola received such a backlash on their 2025 AI Christmas campaign: for many viewers, the nostalgia and warmth that defined the brand’s classic holiday ads felt noticeably absent, replaced by something polished but hollow. Something that just didn’t feel right.
And there’s more brands falling into that trap: AI-generated visuals that look impressive but feel empty, generic messaging that could belong to anyone. The result? Noise instead of meaning.

This doesn’t mean AI has no place in brand building. Quite the opposite.
AI is powerful when used to:
Used this way, AI becomes a supporting tool, not the storyteller. It clears the clutter so humans can focus on what they do best: thinking, creating, observing, feeling.
Choosing authenticity isn’t nostalgic or anti-technology. It’s strategic.
In a world flooded with content, realness becomes a differentiator. A genuine smile, a handwritten note, a brand that clearly stands for something, these things work.
At Donkeycomm, we use AI to work smarter, not colder. To gain time, not to replace human insight. To support stories, not to fabricate them.
Because AI can help you say more, but authenticity determines whether people listen.
The balance between AI and authenticity isn’t fixed. It’s something every brand, team and creator needs to consciously define.
Our stance is clear: Use AI to optimise. Use humans to connect.
We’re curious, how are you balancing AI in your workflow? We’d love to discuss it, or help you find that balance.
